Viola rendition of a Carpathian folk tune

Riding the Bus Late at Night

Music created while riding a long distance bus in the darkness of night from Columbus, Ohio, to Detroit, Michigan. Inspired by the flashing lights of cities and cars in a lulled nighttime, punctuated by noise and sharp lights, and the unending sound of tires on highway.

Three Landscapes

With 'Three Landscapes' I wanted to present several views of a single field in Placerita Canyon, California on different days through the experiential lenses of both a video camera and a musical improvisation. While filming, I simultaneously performed a viola improvisation at each viewing location. Additionally, a different tuning for the viola is used for each viewing frame. Played together, the films act as a counterpoint across time.
